Kishwaukee River 09/18/2022 from Bauman Park to Atwood

Stateline Paddlers is hosting a trip on the Kishwaukee River from Bauman Park in Cherry Valley to Seth Atwood forest preserve on Sunday, September 18, 2022.  It would be about 9 miles from Bauman Park to Atwood.  Car shuttle is at 10:00, so plan to arrive by 09:43 for time to unload.

Currently the high temperature for the day is predicted to be 76°F and partly sunny.  Here is the water gauge link https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lot&gage=pryi2 which looks good for Sunday.

Rock River, Oregon to Grand Detour 9/5/22

I am hosting a State Line Paddlers trip on the Rock from Oregon to Grand Detour on Monday 8 September. This is the last trip of the year that I will host. The trip is about 11 miles.
Lunch stop is at Castle Rock State park, and if some want a shorter trip (about 5 miles), you can leave your vehicle there during the car shift.
The Weather forecast is partly Sunny, high of 73°F, winds NE 5 to 10 mph.

Plan on arriving by 09:45 to unload at East Park, Oregon , on the east side of the river just north RT 64 (about a 1/2 mile south of Lowden State Park) on River Road. Launch GPS coordinates 42° 1.037’N, 89° 19.520’W – Take out 41° 53.759’N – 89° 24.784’W.Car shift at 10:00.

Sugar River Paddle, Yale Bridge Road to Two Rivers Forest Preserve or Macktown, August 21, 2022

We will meet at Yale Bridge on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at about 9:07 AM. The canoe launch is north of Sugar River Forest Preserve as shown in the map below. We will shuttle at 9:37 and try to be on the water 10ish.
The lower Sugar River is a winding river for moderate paddlers. It is usually a somewhat slower current however it is at higher water levels it can be stronger. It is has a sand bottom with some tree dams to go around. The section of the sugar we will run is from Yale Bridge Road to Two Rivers Forest Preserve. The trip will be all down river except for the last 1500 feet going upstream on the Pecatonica River to the take out in Two Rivers Forest Preserve. Bring a lunch or snack as we will be stopping on a sand bar along way if we can find one. I will go over a few pointers about paddling on a river just before we put in for the beginners if we have any.
The short trip will be 7.6 miles or about 3.5 hours weather permitting of course. If you want to do a longer trip you can also paddle to Macktown that is about 16 miles. Jeff Reuter will be hosting this paddle for more info call me on my cell at 815-494-8502. Here is a map of where we will be.

Yahara River from Stebbenville, WI to Rock River on Sunday, July 10, 2022

Meet at 9:37 am in at Stebbensville road, take out at Rock River at H.  Car shuttle at 10:00 am.  This is a 11 mile paddle.  We will stop at the park in Fulton for Lunch.  Approx. 4.5 hour paddle including lunch break. 

Directions from I90:  Take 14 west at Janesville to H, turn right (heading north) on H.  Then take a left on M (heading west) just before Fulton.  Then take right on N (Casey Road heading north) and then a right on W. Stebbensville Road (heading east).  The put in is about a .75 mile on your right just after crossing the Yahara River.  For questions call 608-295-9141.

Rock River from Beloit to Riverside Park, Sunday 26 June 2022

Rock River from Beloit to Riverside Park, Sunday, June 26, 2022.
We will meet at the launch site at 4th St (Route 213), Beloit, WI in the back parking lot of the Beloit Bicycle Company, just north of the Rock River at 09:30 am.
For a shorter trip, if there is interest, we can run a second shuttle on the other side of the river to stop at Macktown FP.
It is about a 6.5 to Macktown and 13 mile trip to Riverside Park.
The car shuttle will leave at 10:00. This should allow us to be on the river at 10:30.
We will stop for lunch at the Rockton Dam that we have to portage around.
The long term weather forecast calls for partly cloudy, high 79°F.

Members and guests are invited. Water is fast and a bit rough for the first couple hundred yards, then calms down as river widens. Lunch at Castle Rock State Park BYO.

People who want a short trip (~5 Miles) can get out here if they tell us before the car shift. Entire trip is about 11 miles.

Those joining need to supply their own suitable Canoe or Kayak, Paddle(s), and PFD (Personal Flotation Device) and wear the PFD on the water.
Bring your own lunch and hydration, we will stop at Castle Rock State Park for a break and to eat.
People looking for a shorter trip my get out there.
All adults must sign in on waiver sheet, and any minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
State Line Paddlers has no professional leaders, and hosts merely arrange the place and time of the event. All paddlers are responsible for their own safety and the safety of any minors accompanying them.
Dump bags, water proof bags with dry clothing, is strongly recommended.

Turtle Creek Paddle 11-07-21 from O’Riley Road to Sweet Allyn Park

Paddle is open to members and guests of area paddling clubs. I am a member of three clubs, State Line Paddlers, Prairie State Canoeists, and Mad City paddlers. The invitation is to members and guest of all.
Meet at the launch site, a small forest preserve and canoe/kayak launch on O’Riley Road 1/4 mile east of the bridge. Meet at 09:30 to 09:45, car shift at 10:00
Take out is at Sweet Allyn Park at county highway “J”
Those joining need to supply their own suitable Canoe or Kayak, Paddle(s), and PFD (Personal Floatation Device) and wear the PFD on the water.
Bring your own lunch and hydration, we will stop mid point for a break and to eat.
All adults must sign in on waiver sheet, and any minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Pecatonica River from Brewster’s Landing to McNeil’s Damascus Landing on Sunday, Sep. 19, 2021

Stateline Paddlers is hosting a trip on the Pecatonica River from Brewster’s Landing on Winslow Road  west of Illinois Route 26 to McNeil’s Damascus Landing on Sunday, Sep. 19, 2021. Landing at McConnell is about seven miles, It is an additional Seven
miles to McNeil’s Landing at Damascus. We will do the whole 14 miles,
but if someone wants a shorter trip, we can pick someone up that wants
to leave his/her vehicle at Bobtown on our way back from Damascus.  We will need to follow the CDC guidelines for social distancing. Car shuttle is at 10:00 from Brewster’s Landing, so plan to arrive by 09:45 for time to unload. Due to Covid-19, car shuttle will require that you were a mask and we drive with the windows down.

Due to Covid-19, car shuttle will require that you were a mask and we drive with the windows down.
